2000, Nr. 2, S. 50 News        New warehouse at Allco    Allco Heimtierbedarf, the animal feed supplier of Morsum-Wulmstorf, Germany, was able to bring its newly built third warehouse into operation in time for the start of the new century. The company stresses that expansion by the addition of a fully insulated shed had become absolutely necessary in view of its favourable sales performance and the increased variety of products on offer. As a result, Allco now has 3 500 m2 of warehousing and consignment space at its disposal. By means of this expansion the company expects that customers' requirements for prompt attention to orders, rapid delivery times and high stock availability will be even more fully satisfied.         Iams in American foodstores    The Iams Company is now planning to market its "Iams" dog and cat products in retail foodstores in North America and Canada, according to an announcement just made by the company. The organisers, H.H. Backer Associates, Inc., are expecting approx. 10 000 visitors to attend the trade show. This time there is a grooming competition on the programme in addition to numerous specialist seminars.         National pet fair in Wiesbaden    The national pet trade fair, to be held for the first time from 4 to 6 May 2001 in Wiesbaden, will be run under the name of DeZooFa (Deutsche Zoofachmesse). This decision was taken at the first meeting of the fair advisory council. Furthermore, Joachim Merkert of Paulchen Heimtierbedarf, Augustdorf, was elected to the position of council chairman.    The aim is to organise the fair as a family occasion for the sector, orientating it in an innovative direction. Plans for the event include a pet show and a special "shopping experience" exhibition…
