2000, Nr. 1, S. 56 News        Animal Expo in Paris    The pet fair Animal Expo will be held at the Parc Floral in the Bois de Vincennes in Paris from 30 September to 1 October 2000. Further information can be obtained on Tel. 00 33/1/49 52 14 26 or Fax 00 33/1/49-52-14-41.         Petindex in Birmingham    Experts in the industry will be able to garner information about some of the season's most important novelties in Birmingham a bare three weeks before Interzoo is held in Nuremberg. On 16 and 17 April Petindex, the biggest UK trade fair for the pet industry, will be offering an overview of the English market over 15 000 m2 at the National Exhibition Centre. Last year 257 exhibitors came to the fair, 56 of them new participants and 37 companies from abroad, as well as 5 192 visitors.       The mood at Petindex 1999 was good. This year again the NEC in Birmingham will open its doors to the pet industry.    The Dog World company and the Pet Care Trust, the trade association for the sector, are responsible for preparing and organising the fair. A broad peripheral programme with numerous promotional events will round off the occasion. Due to be brought out specially for the fair is a CD-ROM with an overview of the exhibition site and interviews with exhibitors. Energy-rich oats, rice and maize are further ingredients.    The company maintains that "Happy Dog" is particularly suitable for animals with dietary problems because of its special combination of raw ingredients. The bioformula in the feed stimulates the metabolism through a carefully balanced mixture of herbs.    According to the manufacturer, the premium products are based almost entirely on locally supplied raw materials without the addition of any soya, beef, artificial colourings and flavourings, or preservatives. "Junior Croq", the complete feed for puppies and young animals, is also now based on easily digestible poultry.
